About the GAS Website

Geocaching is the fastest growing recreational activity in the world today. Geocachers are hiding and seeking caches in hundreds of countries all over the world. A container full of small, useful and fun items is hidden, the coordinates are placed on the Internet and the search is on. GPS receiver units have dropped in price quickly and geocaching is an activity that appeals to everyone, geocaching is caching on. Every area has unique sites, areas and people.

Alberta South covers a wide range of terrain and this website concentrates on a few specific areas such as Medicine Hat and Lethbridge, the two cities that comprise the urban center of Alberta South. Drumheller has a special page as well because of it's prominence in paleontology and as the site of Canada's Royal Tyrrell Museum, perhaps the finest dinosaur museum in the world. Wherever you go in Alberta South you will find friendly and open people, unique terrain and geocaches that highlight pleasant stops, wonderful sites and relaxing walks in unparalleled scenery.

As locals we can often give hints and tips that make the difference between an enjoyable geocaching experience and a frustrating walk.
